DeWitt Seed Guard is a lightweight 0.5 oz white, spun-bond fabric for use in grass seeding in commercial and residential sites. It creates an excellent microenvironment for seed germination and seedling growth while protecting your newly seeded lawn from potential losses from rain, wind, birds and insects. This fabric provides a 90-95% seed germination rate compared to 60-65% with straw or hay. Seed Guard is also cleaner and easier to remove than other covers and won't introduce weeds into your new yard. Can also be used to provide insect and frost protection. Fabric weighs 0.5 ounces per square yard and is treated to minimize UV deterioration. Remove the fabric 2 to 3 weeks after seeding or before the first mowing. Bulk folded to 6-feet, this 12-foot x 500-foot fabric roll weighs 25 lbs.
